Most men have had the painful, emasculating experience of trying to get rid of nose hair. Plucking causes tears and sneezes, and many ‘trimmers’ aren’t much better. The best mens nose trimmer will cut the hair cleanly and quickly but testing them out is a risky endeavour. So to save you the trouble, we’ve reviewed the best nose trimmer for men to find our top five.

Groom Mate Platinum XL Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer Review

If you’re sick of gadgets that seem to chew through batteries, this is the best mens nose trimmer for you. I quite liked that I had total control over this hand powered trimmer, and there’s no risk of it overheating and burning your skin. It feels hefty, but is small enough to get right up into your nose, and I think I could have it forever before it broke. The only issue is it is slightly more time consuming than battery powered trimmers, but I honestly think it’s worth it.

Pros: Hand-powered, feels like it’s built to last, won’t overheat

Cons: Time consuming

Panasonic ER-GN30-K Vortex Wet/Dry Nose and Facial Hair Trimmer Review

I love a product that I can use on the go, and this is one of them! It can be used in the shower which is a big time saver, especially because I’ve been known to let grooming slide when I don’t have the time to fit it in. It’s not too loud either, which is a bonus first thing in the morning. I can use it on my ears and eyebrows as well so it saves buying more gadgets that mess up the bathroom. The plastic it’s made out of felt a bit flimsy to me, but as long as I don’t drop it I don’t foresee it being a problem.

Pros: Wet or dry use, not too loud, can be used on ears and eyebrows as well

Cons: Plastic feels flimsy

Philips Norelco NT9110 Nose and Ear Trimmer Review

Replacing batteries in gadgets is one of the biggest reasons I’ve ended up with a drawer full of dead junk. But this trimmer is not in there! The battery use is very good compared to a lot of other trimmers, and it does the job is designed to do very well. The trimming mechanism is closer to a mini-shaver, so it’s a lot more comfortable, but it does mean that it takes a bit more work to get all the hair. The ergonomic design makes this pretty easy though and it’s still one of the best nose trimmer for men.

Pros: Good battery use, trims comfortably, ergonomic design

Cons: A little more time consuming than others

Andis 13430 Platinum Personal Trimmer Review

This trimmer has everything I was looking for in mens nose trimmer. It’s quiet, cuts close, and is small and light. It didn’t overheat which saved me some unmanly tears and feels like it’s pretty good quality overall. It could only be better if it got through all my nose hair a bit quicker.

Pros: Quiet, close trim, small and light, won’t overheat, feels like it’s good quality

Cons: Could be faster

Panasonic ER430K Vacuum Nose/Facial Hair Trimmer Review

Men who travel a lot for work, or can’t always get access to the bathroom (flatmates, girlfriends, wives, kids… the list goes on!) will love this trimmer. It has a vacuum attachment that sucks up the trimmed hair as you go, meaning there’s less mess and no sneezing. It even comes with a protective carry case! The only improvement that could be made is to make it a bit easier to clean.

Pros: Perfect for travelling or anywhere trimming, vacuum attachment, travel case

Cons: Hard to clean
